Who is this guy?

Synopsis:
I’ve been working in the Broadcast and Digital (Interactive) world as a designer, editor, director and producer for the past 8 years.  I’ve worked with a diverse group of creative professionals that have helped shape how I work.  I believe that each project is a unique opportunity to create something that hasn’t been thought of yet.

Currently, I’m working as a freelancer in the Atlanta area.

My most recent role:

I was formely working as the Regional Director of Digital Productions for the Bernard Hodes Group in the Florida Region.  I’ve been in this role since Q3 of 2008 and it has been one of the most challenging positions I’ve ever had.  From a day to day perspective, I’m tasked with managing the general operations of every Digital project in this region.  I don’t typically do much project management on a consistent basis, but I am deeply involved in all Digital projects and ensure the development of each is smoothly running.

I act as a liaison between those that are producing the project and the account staff that deals with managing the client and their expectations.  There’s a lot of education that goes on in this role and it helps the entire team stay on track.

From inception to completion, I have a hand in helping shape each solution and ensuring it’s built properly.

Background:

I started writing comedy about 12 years ago. It wasn’t until I went to college that I really got into writing and the creative process. I helped start my first sketch comedy show, “The Silly Spider Monkey Fiasco” and later “The Lobotomy Squad.”  More recently, I was the co-host of the hit podcast, “Food is Not Love.”  These shows were my outlet for trying to understand and deal with the real world.

Subsequent to becoming a part of these shows, I had taken up editing as a necessary means of the creative process. I first learned how to edit on a couple of old S-VHS tape decks. It was a down and dirty way to learn the basics of editing and there’s something very satisfying about tape to tape edits.  From learning how to edit, I started to become a better writer. I could visualize my scripts and was able to figure out what would work better on screen. Writing will always be my strongest skill, but directing and editing remains another outlet for expression.

Comedy writing is my passion. Nothing satisfies me more than making people laugh. But more than just making people laugh at what is funny, my style of comedy wants to make them laugh at things shouldn’t. I want people to understand the way I perceive the world.
